The updated car comes in seven attractive colour options- Crystal White Pearl, Raw Copper, Onyx Black, Passion Red Solid, Osmium Grey, Rich Java, and Denim Blue. Currently, the Ex-showroom price of V40 CC is INR 32.83 lakh. V40 Cross Country comes with many stylish cosmetic tweaks like the presence of an updated waterfall design vertically slatted grille with the large logo of the manufacturer in the centre. The headlights include a T-shaped LED, and a new bumper offers a bold yet aesthetic look. The car also has shiny roof rails and impressively designed alloy wheels with the tyre size 215/50 R17 extending a dynamic look very apt for the modern generation Volvo Cars. You get a ground clearance of 145 millimetres and a boot space of 324L in V40 CC.
The interiors of V40 Cross Country offer a spacious and ambient environment to the riders. The seats are comfortable enough with front and rear armrest and lumbar support providing you with decent driving experience, the dashboard has a soft touch, and you can also find a copper-toned veneer on the centre console. There are electrically operated sunroof and climate-control AC with three zones. The infotainment system includes a 5-inch touchscreen display with DAB radio and Bluetooth connectivity. Volvo never compromises with the safety features which are evident from the presence of passenger and side airbags, ABS with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution for traction control, electrically adjustable OVRM, rear parking sensor with a camera, child safety locks, rain sensing wipers, and keyless entry.
Under the hood, you get a 2L turbocharged diesel engine mustering a maximum power of 150 bhp@3500 rpm and a torque of 350 Nm@1500-2750 rpm. The power gets transmitted by 5-cylinder, 6-speed automatic transmission gear. The maximum speed is 200 Kmph, and it takes 8.5 seconds to zoom from 0 to 100 Kmph. The fuel tank has a capacity of 60 Litres, and the average mileage is 16 Kmpl. V40 Cross Country has excellent front MacPherson Strut and rear Multi-Link suspension. The front and rear brakes are ventilated disc and disc type respectively.
Here are the advantages of driving V40 Cross Country.
• The car has a powerful engine which can glide through the highways. You take merely 8.5 seconds to reach 0 to 100 Kmph. • The exteriors and interiors of this hatchback are very stylish and comfortable. • The presence of airbags, AMS with EBD, keyless entry, tractional control, and engine immobiliser proves that Volvo has given prime importance to the safety of the riders. • V40 CC also has advanced climate control 3 zone AC for a pleasurable ride during Indian summer.
Detailed below are the disadvantages of the V40 Cross Country.
• As a hatchback, the car has high ownership and maintenance cost. • The after sales service of Volvo also needs improvement in India. • The mileage is also less as a hatchback. Many other 2L cars are offering better mileage. • The infotainment system could have been larger.
Considering the exterior and interiors, V40 Cross Country is one of the most impressive cars in the premium hatchback segment. However, high ownership cost and mediocre after sales service deters many potential buyers from owning it.
