The 7-seater compact crossover SUV from Mitsubishi, Mitsubishi Outlander is one of the premium offerings from the company. The third generation Outlander was introduced by the company in the year 2015 and has been on sale ever since. Mitsubishi has recently launched an upgraded version of the Outlander in India in 2018. The off-roader faces tough competition in the premium SUV segment from some well-established players. It faces a tough challenge from Toyota Fortuner, Skoda Kodiak, VW Tiguan, Isuzu MU-X and Ford Endeavour.
Presently, Mitsubishi Outlander is available only with a single fuel option of Petrol in India. Under the hood, this SUV is powered by a 2.4-litre MIVEC petrol engine that generates a maximum power of 165 bhp and a peak torque of 222 Nm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission system with a Multi-Select 4 WD system. It offers an ARAI certified mileage of 10 kmpl for the highways while the mileage on city roads is 7 kmpl. The fuel tank capacity stands at 60 litres. The powerful 2360cc engine powers the car from 0-100 kmph in 11 seconds. Presently, there is no Diesel variant available in the Indian market.

The “dynamic shield” design on the exterior lends the Outlander a classy look. This design philosophy ensures that it is a lot sharper and aerodynamic as compared to its predecessor. The chrome-laden signature grille is also aerodynamic that reduces the drag coefficient. The measurements of the car are 4695 mm length, 1810 mm width, and 2670 mm wheelbase. Mitsubishi Outlander is available in seven different colours namely white pearl, White Solid, Cool Silver, Titanium Gray, Black Pearl, Orient Red and Cosmic Blue.

With an ex-showroom price of Rs. 32.27 Lakhs, Mitsubishi Outlander is an excellent sub-compact SUV that promises a comfortable ride at a competitive price. But with stiff competition from the other well-established players, the road ahead is going to be tough for this off-roader.
