The Iconic Mini Cooper is amongst the most recognized cars in the world. Introduced initially in the year 1969, the original version was in production till 2000. When BMW took over Mini, an upgraded version was introduced in the year 2001. There is the provision of 12-color ambient lighting for the cabin, which is really more of a gimmick rather than offering much utility but then Mini Cooper is for indulgent Mini fans. Customers have the option to choose from the 3-door or 5-door variant of the Mini Cooper in India. The exteriors of the Mini Cooper have received a lot of cosmetic changes and new features offering it a more contemporary appearance. It sports the new Mini logo, which is a minimized version of the original one. The front side sports redesigned headlamps units with surrounding indicators and LED lighting. There are aggressive air-intakes units with circular fog-lamp units. The rear bumpers have been re-designed to integrate the dual exhaust pipes which are sticking out from the middle. The tail lamps have a union jack inspires LED pattern. Several new colour options have also been introduced in the recent upgrade.
Mini Cooper is available with two engine options. The turbocharged petrol engine has a capacity of 2 litres and can generate a peak power output of 189 bhp and maximum torque of 280 Nm. The 1.5 Litre Diesel Engine runs on three cylinders and is capable of producing 112 bhp of power and 270 Nm of torque. Both the engines come with a seven-speed automatic transmission system that powers all the wheels. There are new options introduced such as Green driving modes and sports driving mode along with cruise control.
