The Iconic Mini Cooper is amongst the most recognized cars in the world. Introduced initially in the year 1969, the original version was in production till 2000. When BMW took over Mini, an upgraded version was introduced in the year 2001. The Mini Cooper is amongst the best-selling cars in the series and has held its own despite tough competition from other manufacturers. The Mini Cooper was introduced in India in the year 2014 and found an instant preference with Indian customers, Presently, Mini Cooper is available in a three-door version as well as a five-door version. The three-door version is available in both petrol and diesel while the five-door option is available only with the Diesel engine. Mini Cooper faces tough competition from some established players in the market including BMW Z1, Audi Q3, and Mercedes Benz GLA.

The upgraded version of Mini Cooper sports a newly designed cabin with a piano black finish insert on the central consoles and the dashboard. The central console is dominated by a 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which can be upgraded to an 8.8-inch unit as well. There is the provision of 12-color ambient lighting for the cabin, which is really more of a gimmick rather than offering much utility but then Mini Cooper is for indulgent Mini fans. The standard features such as climate control, plush seats, spacious seating, power windows, ABS, EBD, Traction control, Central locking, power door locks, seven airbags, xenon headlamps, and several other additions make it a worthy contender in the category.

The exteriors of the Mini Cooper have received a lot of cosmetic changes and new features offering it a more contemporary appearance. It sports the new Mini logo, which is a minimized version of the original one. The front side sports redesigned headlamps units with surrounding indicators and LED lighting. There are aggressive air-intakes units with circular fog-lamp units. The rear bumpers have been re-designed to integrate the dual exhaust pipes which are sticking out from the middle. The tail lamps have a union jack inspires LED pattern. Several new colour options have also been introduced in the recent upgrade.

Mini Cooper is available with two engine options. The turbocharged petrol engine has a capacity of 2 litres and can generate a peak power output of 189 bhp and maximum torque of 280 Nm. The 1.5 Litre Diesel Engine runs on three cylinders and is capable of producing 112 bhp of power and 270 Nm of torque.
