Maruti has a range of models for various segments available in the market. One such model that falls in the compact SUV class, which has created quite a buzz among the auto aficionados in the country, is the Maruti Suzuki New Ertiga model. This is quite a big car that is designed to give the riders a superior riding experience on any type of roads. The New Ertiga model builds upon the earlier Ertiga Avatar and has several additional safety and comfort features (besides design tweaks) that makes it such a great car to ride on.
The new avatar of Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is based on the Heartec platform, which you can find in the Swift and Baleno model. This has made the car bigger than the earlier Ertiga model. Additionally, the new model comes with a different look than the earlier one so that it can compete more effectively against its rival in the market. The engine grill, headlamp cluster, alloy wheel designs have all undergone changes to give this car a more refined yet aggressive road presence, which gels well with its muscular SUV image.
The designers of this car have tried to give it an upmarket feel by using faux food theme on its dashboard that looks quite sophisticated. The new Ertiga is furnished with dual tone colours of beige and darker brown that you can see both on the dashboard, as well as on the seats. The new instrument cluster is intelligently designed that allows the driver to quickly look at the functioning of the car with a single glance. It also has a big infotainment screen that can support Apple Car Play and Android Auto. The big difference, we found on the new Ertiga model is the amount of leg space, you will get both on the middle as well as on the third row.
The new Maruti Suzuki Ertiga not only has a different style, and additional comfort features, but also comes with a different petrol engine compared to the previous model. It is a 1.5 L engine, which is also used in the Ciaz model. This engine can generate a maximum power of 103 bhp and a peak level torque of 138 Nm. The petrol engine is available with a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic transmission box. However, if you want the diesel trim, then you will get a 1.3 L DDIS engine that can produce a peak level power of 89 bhp that results in a torque of 200 Nm. While this car performs flawlessly at lower speeds when you take it to the higher revs, you will find that the engine is making a lot of noises. The handling of this car is great and you will not face any issue of driving this car over city roads or even on off the road driving conditions.
