Mahindra has recently launched the upgraded variant of the TUV300 called the TUV300 Plus. This model not only has improved looks but also a bit bigger than the TUV300 model. This car designed for those who are looking for a bigger SUV with adequate comfort and safety features. The new Mahindra TUV300 Plus beside its trendy looks is also a superb performer on the roads. Mahindra has introduced this model to target those individuals who are looking for a powerful SUV that serves them well even in the most difficult terrains. This car falls in the entry-level SUV segment.
When you look at this car for the first time, you will be hard pressed to find any difference from the TUV300 model. However, if you look more closely, and you will find that there are certain design tweaks that make this car have a personality of its own, which is quite distinct from the TUV300 model. This car is longer and can seat nine passengers. This model also has more curves then edges, which improve its looks dramatically. Even when we look at the front profile, we will find that the designers have used more chrome on the engine grill and have redesigned the headlamp cluster to ensure that it has a stronger street presence. Other than these few, the overall look of this car is very similar to the TUV300 model.
The interior of this car is very spacious that gives plenty of legroom for the front and the mid row riders. However, if you are tall, then you should avoid sitting in the rear seats as it has very little leg space. The furnishing of this car is tastefully done and you will find that the quality of plastic and fabrics used in this car are of good quality. The dashboard is designed with hard plastic and you will find several chrome embellished dials and AC vents integrated into the dashboard along with their big infotainment touchscreen. The seats are ergonomically designed and you can ride sitting on them comfortably for a long period of time. Additionally, this car also has cup and bottle holders, door pockets, glove box, music system and a few other elements to keep the riders comfortable on a long journey.
This car is blessed with a 2.2 litres mHWAK engine that performs remarkably even in the most difficult terrains. Driving this car is a pleasure, as you will find shifting of the gears thanks to the predefined gates. One negative thing that we found about this engine is that when we took this car to the open highways and stepped on the pedal, the engine seemed to be straining. It felt that there was not enough power generated at the higher revs. Other than this, we enjoyed our ride in this car immensely.
The price of the Mahindra TUV300 Plus is in the range of Rs.9.69 lakhs and Rs.11.10 lakhs (approximate). The major competitors of this car in the market are the Ford EcoSports and Renault Duster.
