Mahindra has numerous models for different segments of the auto market. However, the one segment where this company has outclassed most of its domestic rivals is the SUV segment. Mahindra has many SUV models available at the different price point. One such model that has gained a lot of popularity in the recent years is the Mahindra NuvoSport. This is a compact SUV, which is specially made for those who are looking for a reliable ride that performs well both in the city as well as in off the road conditions.
The designer of this compact SUV has used a combination of angles and creases to give it a dynamic look that not only looks attractive but also formidable on the road. The big bonnet and the expressive engine grill that is flanked by beautifully crafted headlamp cluster dominate the front profile of this car. The back profile of this car looks similar to one of its earlier Quanto model. The side profile also seemed to be heavily inspired by the Quanto model. However, to give it a different look, the designers have introduced black colour cladding that not only contrasts well with the body colour but also gives it a rough and tough look.
The interior of this SUV is quite plain and features the same upright looking dashboard and chubby looking dials that you had seen in the Quanto model. The seats are comfortable and allow five adults to travel quietly comfortably with a good amount of leg and shoulder room for all of them. At the centre of the dashboard, you will find a touch-sensitive infotainment screen that helps you to read various readings of this car through the touch of a button. The doors have speed sensitive looking system, but it does not have any central locking which is a big downer. Other than that, this car ticks most of the feature boxes that allows the passengers to have a comfortable ride in this car.
This car is available with a mHAWK diesel engine with twin turbocharger mated with a five-speed manual/AMT transmission box. Driving this compact SUV is pretty great. When you start the engine, there will be some clanging sounds, but it all smoothens up quickly as you rev the engine further. Driving this car at low rev gives you the best experience. Once you have revved the engine upwards 3800 rpm, you will get a lot of noise. The economy mode of this car will greatly diminish the performance. Other than, these small niggles, you will not find any major issue driving this car on the road.
Mahindra NuvoSport is a compact SUV that is available at a decent price. The base model of this car is available at a price of Rs. 7.90 lakhs (approximate). However, if you are looking for a greater number of comfort and safety features, then you can go for the upper-end trim, which is priced at Rs. 10.42 lakhs (approximate). The major competitors of this car in the market are Renault Duster, Premier Rio and Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza.
