Hyundai has several amazing cars in its portfolio. Among these, one of the small hatchbacks that have made a name for itself for providing fantastic features at a reasonable price is the Hyundai i10. The new facelift of 2018 in this car comes with a few design tweaks.
As we have mentioned above, Hyundai i10 is a small hatchback that packs quite a punch in terms of powerful engine and comfort features, which will make your drive in it smooth, safe, and comfortable. The redesigned black coloured engine grill that has a thick black strip with Suzuki badging in the middle going across it will catch your attention the most. Additionally, you will find L-shaped fog lamps, which turn off automatically when hand brakes are employed. Even the wheels are different, as the new facelift has 14 inches, beautifully crafted alloy wheels that give it a greater street presence. If you look at the back of the car, you will find that the designers have improved its looks with a redesigned LED tail lamp cluster. The sloping back windshield of Hyundai i10 with a beautiful looking rear spoiler improves the stability of this car even at high speed. Although this car can be classified as a mid-size hatchback, overall design and looks give an impression of a bigger car on the road.
When we first saw the classy interiors of this sophisticated looking hatchback, we were pleasantly surprised by the refined looks and amazing riding experience in this car. Although Hyundai i10 classified as a mid-priced hatchback, the overall furnishing and the quality of materials used in this car gives an impression of a high-end car. The front of the cabin looks simply awesome with a beautifully designed dashboard that houses an intelligently designed instrument cluster with integrated 7-inch touchscreen audio system. The beautifully crafted multifunctional steering wheel is compact and feels very solid in your hand. It has leather coverings and features several embedded buttons to operate the music system of this car or allow you to connect with your smartphone. The seats of this car are very comfortable and come with good thigh support and legroom, which is so essential for riders on a long drive. While there are many things that make this car an amazing ride, there are a few issues also which is necessary to highlight. The first one that comes to the mind is that the base or even the mid-range model of this car does not come with airbags for the passengers. Additionally, only the upper-end model of this car has ABS system. Furthermore, some of its competitors in the market have sensitive door locks, which is absent in this car. If you are driving this car, you will also find out that the noise insulation system is also not up to the mark, especially at low gear, you will hear a lot of rattling sound, which affects the overall driving experience of this car. But all said and done, it is quite a good car in this price range and allows you to enjoy your ride thoroughly with a lot of comfort elements, specially designed keeping in mind the requirement of the driver as well as the passengers.
If you like this hatchback, then you can buy it either with a petrol engine or with a diesel mill. The petrol trim is blessed with an 1197 cc 1.2 L Kappa motor, which is assisted by a dual VTVT. This engine is considered to be the best in its class in terms of mileage. It can generate a maximum power of 81.9 bhp, which produces a torque of 113.8Nm @ 4000 rpm. However, if your choice is the diesel car, then you will get a 1.2 L advanced second-generation U2 CRDi motor that can give you the highest power of 75 HP, resulting in a hammering torque of 190 Nm. Both these engines are available with five-speed manual transmission box as well as an automatic gearbox. The diesel engine vibrates a little at lower power and produces a bit of noise, which, however, smoothens up once you put more power in the engine. The powers delivered by the engines are in a linear manner, and you will not feel any lack of turbo while driving this car. Hyundai has claimed that both the petrol in the diesel engine fitted in this car is very fuel-efficient and if we go to their number, which is 18.9 KMPL for the petrol model and 24.9 KMPL for the diesel model, then the boast does not sound idle. The handling of this car has also improved from its earlier variant. Now you will not feel the pitching when you drive this car over wavy surfaces.
