Overview

If you are planning to buy an entry-level sedan with great features, then we suggest that you look at the Ford Aspire model. This compact sedan not only looks great with a strong road presence but also is fitted with many comforts and safety features that will make your ride in this car truly memorable. Although it is an entry-level car, the amount of detailing that the engineers have put in this car has made it one of the most popular sedans in this price segment.

Exterior

When you first see this car, you will be impressed by it’s with crisp lines and a beautifully crafted chrome encrusted engine grill. The wraparound headlamp cluster with LED lamps and chrome embellishments in the fog lamp sockets improves its upmarket looks tremendously. This compact sedan has a low-slung profile when you look at it from the side. It has a character line that runs at the shoulder level and another at the bottom that improves its looks even further. The rear profile of this car has a trendy feel to it with sloping windshield, a beautifully crafted LED tail lamp cluster and it’s thick chrome strip that runs across its boot lid.

Interior

The interior of the Ford Aspire is at par with any of its competitors in the market with dual tone furnishing and cool looking comfort features. While we were highly impressed by the design of the instrument cluster and the quality of the material used there, we were a bit disappointed with the quality of material used for the door panels. If you buy the top end trim of this car, you will get very comfortable seats with leather upholstery. While the seats at the lower end trim with fabric covering are not that bad, we feel that they are a bit softer, which may impact your riding experience. If we put aside these few irritants, then we can say that this car gives an amazing riding experience.

Engine

This car is available with either a 1.2 L petrol engine or a slightly more powerful 1.5 L diesel engine. Both these engines are mated with a five-speed manual transmission box. Driving this car (both with petrol as well as diesel engines) is an amazing experience as the engines are tuned in such a way that you will get a good amount of power at both lower as well as the high end of the revs. The good riding experience of this car is also because of the great power to weight ratio that allows this car to pull forward effortlessly whenever you push the pedal. However, when we were driving this car at high speed, we observed body rolling, which does affect the driving experience. Other than this, we were quite satisfied with the overall performance of this compact sedan.

Price and Competition

Ford aspire is an entry-level car, and you can buy the base model for a price of Rs. 5.55 lakhs (approximate). Moreover, if you are looking for a greater comfort and driving experience, then you can go for the upper-end trim, which is priced at Rs. 8.49 lakhs (approximate). The major competitors of this car in the market are Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Hyundai Xcent, and Honda Amaze.
